We embrace any dental technology that we know will enhance your experience by streamlining treatment, improving your comfort, and ensuring positive treatment outcomes.

Please take a few moments to learn about the technology we currently use and the benefits it offers. If you have questions or would like to schedule an appointment, please don't hesitate to contact us!

Intraoral Cameras

An intraoral camera is a small digital camera that our dentists use to show patients what they see during a dental exam. The camera illuminates the inside of the mouth, and the magnified images it captures appear on the chairside monitor in real-time.

Since you can see what we see, we can point out issues like broken or worn teeth or old fillings, and you can understand why we recommend treatment. When treatment is complete, we can show you the results and save the still images in your patient record for future reference.

Digital X-Rays

Dental x-rays are necessary because they allow our dentists to plan the safest, most appropriate treatment for each patient’s individual needs. At Woodbury Dental Care, we use low-dose digital x-rays because they reduce radiation exposure by about 80 percent compared to film x-rays.

Digital x-rays also provide more precise and detailed images than traditional x-rays, making diagnosing and planning treatment accurate and efficient. Sharing digital x-ray images is easy and allows patients to visualize the need for and benefits of the proposed treatment.

Patient x-rays are stored on our secure in-house network and are easy for our team to access as needed. And, since we don’t need to dispose of any hazardous chemicals, digital x-rays are better for the environment.

Digital Impressions

If you have ever had a goopy dental impression taken, you will appreciate our leading-edge digital impressions! Instead of sitting with cold, messy material in your mouth and waiting minutes for it to set, we use a handheld intraoral scanner to capture a digital impression in seconds.

Digital impressions render a 3-D virtual model of the mouth that is far more precise and detailed than anything we can obtain with traditional paste impressions. When used with specialized software, our dentists can virtually design beautiful crowns, veneers, dental implants, bridges, and plan Invisalign treatment.

3-D Cone Beam Computed Tomograhy (CBCT)

Dental technology has come a long way in just a few short years, and one of the most impressive advancements is 3-D cone beam imaging, also called CBCT. CBCT scans are a variation of traditional CT scans. This technology scans the entire head, including the mouth, jaw, and neck, to produce a virtual 3-D image of teeth, nerve pathways, sinuses, and soft tissue.

At Woodbury Dental Care, we commonly use 3-D cone beam scans to accurately plan implant placement by determining bone structure and tooth orientation. We also use CBCT to diagnose TMJ disorder, detect jaw tumors, and plan tooth extraction and root canals.

Nitrous Oxide

Excellent oral health has many benefits, but you can’t enjoy them if you are too anxious to make an appointment. At Woodbury Dental Care, we offer safe, effective nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to help you relax so you don’t have to skip appointments.

Nitrous oxide is a gas mixed with oxygen, and you inhale it through a small nasal mask while you relax in the dental chair. In a few moments, you will feel calm and drowsy and detached from the activity around you. The effects last only as long as we administer the gas, so you will be able to leave our office feeling refreshed and able go on with our usual daily activities.
